I finished up the piece this week, focusing on adding more contrast in values and finalizing the details of the piece.

This week I finished the bark on the right tree and the snow on the bush in the foreground. I also started drawing the very fine branches and finished outlining the window panes.
This week I finished drawing the bark on the left tree and added more branches and snow on top of the bush. I think this drawing is shaping up very nicely and I especially love the texture of the bark.
This week I was able to work on my home project for a nice chunk of time and was able to finish my pencil drawing for this window. Then, I started going in with my .01 Micron pen and outlining the bark and some of the branches of the landscape. I am very happy with how the bark is turning out in the picture on the left. I decided to do some stippling and I think it is a really effective method of portraying the specific texture of this type of tree. I am excited to continue working on this piece next week.
This week I drew in a lot of branches onto the project and I tried to indicate every part of the tree that showed from underneath the layer of snow. I think I will need to spend one more day drawing with pencil, just to lay out the most important shapes and shades of the scene. Then, I will move on to the ink pen portion of this piece and add more detail and shading with the pens.
This week I worked on my first (of four or five) drawings of the views outside of my window. I started off by drawing the window structure, which took a lot more time than it should have, and then moved on to block out the most important objects in the scene. This first scene is the snowy landscape outside of my workspace window and I was actually lucky to draw completely observationally today, as I got a lovely blanket of snow at my house. I also took a picture of the snowscape, so if it melts too much, I still have a good idea of how much the snow weighs down the branches and sits upon the bushes.
