I finished my self-portrait! I had I lot of fun with the hair and I will take better quality photos this weekend. I am really happy with how it turned out.
This week I made thinner marks to complete the face, thereby achieving a more exact shading. I have saved the eyes and hair for last.
I worked on the rest of the t-shirt and starting working on the face and neck. The neck is shrouded in shadows so that is why it appears very dark. My goal is to have most of the face done by the end of next week.
I was finally able to fix the problems with my face, I moved the right up a little and stretched my mouth more. Then, this week, I continued carefully shading my shirt, paying close attention to wrinkles and shadows. I think next week I will finish the shirt.
This week I finished drawing in pencil, however I still think there is something wrong with the face. I will get a second opinion next week. Additionally, I started going in with charcoal on the shirt. I am trying to convey the wrinkles with darker marks.
This week I started by picking a dynamic photo of myself. Then, I printed it out, gridded it, and made the old master paper proportional to the picture. Next, I drew grid lines on the old master paper and began to draw my portrait.
